Hemp
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or hand wash
Use a mild, eco-friendly detergent
Do not bleach
Hang to dry — hemp dries quickly and softens beautifully with each wash
Tumble dry on low if needed
Iron on medium heat — hemp can wrinkle easily
Hemp gets softer over time with washing — this is normal and desirable
Tapestry
Spot clean only where possible to preserve the weave and colours
If full washing is needed, hand wash in cold water with a gentle detergent
Do not machine wash — the weave structure can pull and distort
Do not wring — gently press and roll in a clean towel to absorb moisture
Lay flat to dry or hang carefully without pegging through the weave
Do not tumble dry

Spandex
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or hand wash
Use a mild detergent — avoid fabric softener which can break down elastic fibres

Do not iron — heat damages spandex
Avoid leaving in direct sunlight for extended periods
Chiffon
Hand wash in cold water only — chiffon is extremely delicate
Use a small amount of gentle or silk-specific detergent
Do not rub, scrub or wring — gently swish and rinse
Roll in a clean towel to absorb moisture — do not twist
Hang to dry away from direct sunlight
Iron on the lowest heat setting on the reverse side, or use a pressing cloth
Store hung to avoid permanent creasing
Linen
Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold or lukewarm water (30°C max)
Use a gentle detergent — avoid bleach which weakens linen fibres
Do not over-spin — linen can crease deeply in a fast spin cycle
Hang to dry while slightly damp and smooth out by hand
Tumble dry on low heat is acceptable but may cause slight shrinkage

Polysilk is more durable than pure silk but still benefits from gentle handling
Silkpoly (70% Silk / 30% Poly)
Hand wash in cool water using a gentle silk-safe detergent
The polyester content makes this more durable than pure silk but still treat it gently
Do not use hot water — the silk content will suffer
Do not wring — press gently in a towel to remove moisture

Polyester
Machine wash on a gentle or normal cycle in cool to warm water (30–40°C)
Use a standard gentle detergent

Iron on a low synthetic setting only if needed — polyester can melt under high heat

Always follow the care instructions for the base fabric first
Hand wash only — machine washing can pull, unravel or distort embroidery threads
Wash inside out to protect embroidered areas from friction
Do not scrub or rub the embroidered areas directly
Rinse gently without agitation
Press gently in a towel to dry — never wring
Lay flat or hang to dry — never tumble dry
When ironing, place a pressing cloth over the embroidery and iron around it — never directly over the threads
Store flat or carefully rolled to avoid crushing the raised embroidery
